Citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania. Application examination terms.

Government of the Republic of Lithuania has adopted changes of the legislation (the procedural guidelines for the application for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania), which state that an application for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania should be examined within the term of 6 months. It is worth to notice that before the above mentioned amendments, the examination of certain applications for the citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania could take even more than one year. Obviously, definition of the precise term for the examination turned the process of examination of applications to the much more efficient and transparent level, although the delays in examination practice are quite common.
